I am in favor of Moose Day.

Today: On May 5, 1862, the Mexican army won the battle near the city of Puebla against the occupying French. Therefore, we Americans need to party every year on this day? Really?

Seems like a kinda random thing to me. It would make more sense if we had a big, national celebration of "Moose Day," which is actually only celebrated in a small region of Saskatchewan (on the Friday closest to August 13th, although that tends to mean starting to drink Thursday afternoon (or Thursday morning) and going through Sunday, although the Monday after Moose Day tends to have people showing up a bit after lunchtime, shuffling some papers, then calling it a day and going home to sleep off the rest of the hangover). We should probably get a petition going.
