Friday was a day off from BHFT, but it started with a couple hours of finishing the webcomic for that morning. My plan for the day was to spend a while with Grandma G and Baby Hz in the morning, then work on another comic, and do another baby-watching shift in the afternoon before a break and Dude Night. Since I mentioned it this way, you can probably deduce that it didn't go as planned.
The day was spent with my mother and Hz. Every time I left the room, Hz would watch me go with rising anxiety, then she'd howl until I came back. Which is both endearing and heartrending. I suspect that she would have calmed down in a few minutes; she spent most of the week with Grandma G and was fine. But I wasn't up for subjecting the two of them to the trauma.
Because the weather was so nice, we went for TWO walks. Each time, Hz was excited to see the stroller (she's old enough now that she enjoys watching the neighborhood go by, like Baby TV), and after a while, she dozed off. The morning walk lasted over an hour so we could let her sleep. The rest of the day was spent in the standard baby-care activities; feeding, cleaning, watching her play, and keeping her from doing stuff we don't want her to do. But she still managed to smear handfuls of banana in her hair.
It wasn't quite the day I expected, but it was a pretty good day. Current Mood: exhausted
