I Ain’t Dead
Since most of you read the comic and/or the Newsletter, you’re already aware that my long hiatus from LJ wasn’t because I’d vanished from the Earth or experienced one of those cases of Spontaneous Human Combustion that’s going around. I can blame last week’s cold for part of it, but mostly it’s because I haven’t thought or done anything interesting for weeks.
Okay, that’s a lie. My brain is constantly going, and at least a percentage of my thoughts would be worthy of an LJ post. I could talk about the movies I’ve seen, the graphic novels I’ve been reading, the random thoughts about my writing ambitions; lots of stuff. But... you know. Sometimes writing a post is far more difficult than it should be.
And, my god: last week I got an email from Dr. K, who I haven’t heard from in like twenty years!
Okay, that’s a lie too: I GOT the email early in February, but it landed in an email box that I don’t check regularly, so I totally missed that she was in Portland until well after the event. Still, despite being sick, I sent a reasonably coherent reply.
I think a lot of why I haven’t posted much lately is because I’ve been expecting to be able to announce an awesome, life-affirming, triumphant event any day now. Real soon. Waiting on it happening. Just as soon as I get around to doing
So, rather than whining about how I’m not doing it, or how anxiety-provoking it is, I’ve just not said anything.
But I figured I’d better say something
, so you’d know that I’m still alive. Which I am. Current Mood: alive
