|In Like a Small, Unobtrusive Thing...
While kneeling to put on my shoes this morning, I felt my back twinge. It hurt lightly for a minute, then faded. But I was not fooled. No, as I suspected, that was merely the warning shot. By the time I got to the chiropractor's at lunch, my whole lower back ached. I'm icing it now, twelve hours later, but I'm sore and tired. I figured I'd try to post some of the LJ backlog, and then go to bed. My pain, your gain... Current Mood: hurting

I’ve noticed a Trend. If I haven’t written the final draft of Monday’s comic by the time I wake up on Sunday, I won’t finish the comic until Sunday evening. I’m not sure why it takes me ALL DAY, but this has happened repeatedly.*
It isn’t as if I only sit at the computer and stare at the screen while trying to squeeze the proper words from my brain (although this is part of the process). There were a variety of Creative Procrastination activities; an early-morning (and most importantly, pre-crowd) shopping trip to Fred Meyer, laundry, a haircut, preparing Monday’s Vote Incentive comic, fixing some images of past comics and a little helping drarwenchicken
and BILJ in their tear-up-carpets-and-paint-walls weekend project.
So it’s not a big problem. But I don’t really feel like I’m done with my Responsibilities and can just enjoy the rest of the weekend until I’ve finished Monday’s comic. Maybe someday I’ll achieve that before Sunday Evening…
*Note that this post is from the 20th. Not surprisingly, the same thing happened on the 28th. Current Mood: creative

Well, I meant to work on my Bins To Storage Unit project over the weekend. I really did! But Monday morning, it seemed much more desirable to invite sanguinity
to walk the Springwater Corridor from SE Umatilla up past OMSI and back. I wasn’t sure if they’d accept, as they’d just done a vigorous hike up Wind Mountain the day before, but never underestimate the lure of dodging bicycles for seven miles!
Despite all the bicyclists on the bike path, it was a good day for it. We saw wildlife (herons and goslings and an otter (who was not
happy about us watching him, even though we were nowhere close enough to be a threat, really)). We talked about stuff, and didn’t run out of things to say. And we got a pretty good walk.
My legs felt a little sore on Tuesday. I don't think our walk caused my back to go wonky. That would be very annoying. Current Mood: contemplative
