hat, tophat, Evan, 2019

Walked out the door to go to Big Happy Fun Time, and didn’t make it past the front steps. Snow!! REAL snow, not just the half-hearted dusting we got earlier.

Yes, I could drive to work in it. Arizona winters frequently meant snow on the dirt road into town (I know you may think that’s one of my Silly Jokes, but it isn’t). And I’ve spent a year in Anchorage. I know how to deal with snowy conditions. But there are thousands of Portlandians out there who don’t, and the Special Storm Team Action Alert Accu-Watch on the news has been showing not-fun images of the morning commute.

My Project Manager just suggested I stay home and call in from here to this afternoon’s conference call. I’m not going to argue with her. I can get ahead on the comic and Newsletter...

And maybe I’ll take some pictures later! Stay Warm and Safe, Portlanders!

Snow Photo!

When I went out to take photos, I realized someone had drawn a smiling face in the snow on my car window, with "HI SNOW" written next to it. Okay. I theorize that someone out walking their dog in the freezing weather had hypothermia setting in, so it seemed like a good idea.

Anyway, here's a photo! This is Our House In The Snow:

It doesn't look so deep in this picture. I think we had about 3"; about up to Ping's armpits (he's on the roof of my car):
