Yeah, That Was A Good Day
While a day with only three customers is not a Good Day For The Bookstore, I found it particularly agreeable. I really do have a great job. Today, I was alone for about 7 out of 7.5 hours. I listened to music while I packed up orders for shipment and did a few paperwork tasks that R assigned. I fielded a few phone calls. I had enough cardboard.
I did spend a little while thinking about what I could do instead, something that paid more. I think I'd be a good Listener. Not a psychologist; that's a lot of work. And it requires licensing. More like a Life Coach, but I wouldn't offer advice. People would pay me for 25 or 50-minute sessions, and I'd listen to them. They could talk about whatever they wanted. I might go “Hmmm,” or say “I believe you.” Sometimes I might ask questions, like “So, did they ever find the potato?” But mostly I'd just listen.
I think I'd be good at it. Current Mood: cheerful
