BICL and Sick
I hate admitting that I'm sick. I always go through a phase of denial, in hopes that if I can convince myself that I'm not coming down with something, it will magically go away. Sometimes it works. Sometimes.
In the middle of the night, as I was getting more and more congested, I started waking myself up. Not intentionally. I'd be falling asleep, and just as I'm going under, I'd do this weird gurgling snore thing, and startle myself awake. The obviously sucky aspect is that you don't get any real rest by waking up ten times an hour. The interesting bit, though, was that I started having these brief but intensely vivid dreams. I normally dream a lot, but I usually don't remember much more than vague details. These were clear, vibrantly real, and since I was woken up as they started, easy to remember. Unfortunately, there were stunningly mundane. Riding a bike through SE Portland. Chaperoning a schoolbus full of kids. Walking into a small conference room for a business meeting. WTF? Given the freedom to create all manner of fantastic and wondrous dreams, my brain has a meeting?
I am so very disappointed in it.
So it wasn't much of a day. I created the new set for Comic 59, which will get used a lot in the next few weeks. And a new creature, who came out quite nicely, if I do say so myself. But I also spent a bunch of time just lying on the couch with my eyes closed, because that was as complex as I could manage for a while. Current Mood: sick
