After getting into bed and turning out the light about 9:00 p.m. last night (Woohoo! Wild Bachelor Lifestyle!
), I, for some reason, woke up at 5:00 a.m., unable to go back to sleep. Even that wouldn't have been so bad if I hadn't felt all swampy, like I was fending off a cold. Food and liquid stimulant helped, as did another mid-morning hour of sleep, but I've felt crummy all day. So it was a barrage of immune-support supplements, chicken soup and hot tea for me.
Still, I managed to get this week's comics scripted, and assembled the one for Monday. Got that going for me.
The evening's excitement was at 18:00:53, when the earth shook
. At first I thought it was merely the moving truck I'd seen earlier, but it persisted with a low-frequency thump!
, and just as I was starting to think about the show I saw on Discovery Channel about the Juan de Fuca plate, it stopped. I mention the JdFP (which is subducting under the North American Plate, and we all know what that means!
), because the show talked about possible 9+ magnitude earthquakes that could shake for five minutes
. That would be Very Bad.
It's been about 300 years since the last huge quake on the Juan de Fuca Plate, so one that size is likely to occur sometime soon. Like in the next 800 years. Or so. It's not an exact science.
So, now I'll shut down Mr. Computer and go to bed (Wooooo! Paaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrttty!
). If I feel better tomorrow, I get to go write with sanguinity
. I'd hate to miss that. Current Mood: swampy
