So I got that goin' for me....
Last night I won the Evaluation contest for the Servetus East Toastmasters! Don't be too impressed yet; that's for the one club, so I was only competing against four other people. Still, it means I can compete at the area level, on April 18th.
I believe I'll do pretty well, because I know the secret to attention-getting evaluations:
Four-syllable words. That's it. Sneak a few four-syllable words into an evaluation (like "pontificate" or "erudite" (I know that's normally only a three-syllable word, but not if you pronounce it to rhyme with "Aphrodite", which is a perfectly good four-syllable word, but really hard to work into a speech evaluation), and the judges give you top marks. We'll see how well this strategy works next month. Current Mood: cheerful
