Vermont Trip, May 24rd - Day #5 - Letting the Potters & Woodworkers Look At Me
Had a series of dreams where I was so congested I couldn't breathe through my nose, and would wake up repeatedly to find that was exactly what was happening. I had switched from taking only decongestants to full-bore allergy pills, but it wasn't enough. So I was a wee bit tired today.

Our travels were a bit closer to home; we went to where JQP worked in Bridgewater (yet ANOTHER quaint Vermont town!) to let the employees and artisans see that I actually exist. They were all very friendly, and JQP showed me around the woodworking area, where they build really great hand-made furniture, and the pottery, where they grow the pot (Ha ha! Just kidding! I mean, they are ARTISTS and all, but for all you Federal Agents reading this, I have absolutely NO knowledge of any of them producing or consuming recreational pharmaceuticals). Anyway, I got to meet Miranda Thomas, the Very Famous Potter, and for a famous person, she was not a bit stuck-up.

We spent a fair bit of time at the upholstery station, where JQP got to scan the scraps bin for really fabulous fabrics, and then it was time to go. We spent a while at the library, researching travel options for an upcoming trip for JQP, but they closed at 5:00, so we had to leave before we were done. To console ourselves, we made popcorn and watched "Charade," the Cary Grant/Audrey Hepburn thriller. Afterward there seemed to be a break in the rain, so we decided to walk to JQP's work to fax an Important Document, which didn't go smoothly, but finally did get transmitted (what do you MEAN there's no long distance on the FAX LINE?). We then chose to take the long way home along the other side of the river. This turned out to be less enjoyable than intended when it started POURING. I announced that I had changed my mind and wanted to take the short way home, but by then we were halfway there and fully committed. Fortunately I'm from Oregon, and therefore familiar with being rained on.

Current Mood: okay
