Blast from the PAST!
Today I got an email message from the contact page of my evannichols.com
website, saying "Are you the Evan Nichols that worked in New Mexico in the early 80's?" And I AM! So I wrote back with words to that effect, and it turned out to be the daughter of a Philmont Chaplain that I had met in 1980. We shared the sort of sweet, summer-camp crush on each other that naïve, inexperienced young people have (not like hot, sweaty camp "romances" of today's youth (to be fair, there was a lot of that going on back then, too, but not with me)). She's married now, living in Missouri and working as a children's librarian and teacher.
I LOVE hearing from people I knew long ago, but it's not the same when I look them up. So if you're reading this, and you're wondering if this is the same Evan Nichols you knew from Prescott High School, Philmont, Lewis & Clark College, Pacific Bell, or PTI, send me an email! I haven't become so famous yet that I've forgotten all the little people I've met along the way. ;-) Current Mood: surprised
