The most unusual thing I did all day was send emails to Margie Boulé and Jonathan Nicholas (for those of you who live outside of Portland, they are columnists with the Oregonian. For those of you who are young, that's a newspaper, which is how people used to learn about what was going on in the world before The Daily Show). I'd offered to bring the Alameda Art Auction to their attention. I'm sure they get tons of event notices from the event organizers every day. Perhaps I only imagine that it makes a difference, but I thought they might pay more attention if this came from someone else.
