Sunday Night, Again?
Two days for a weekend is just too short. I barely got ANYTHING done.

I had planned (hoped) to work on the comic early this morning, but slept poorly, and when I got up, I realized that when one viewed evannichols.com on a Mac, there were many black diamonds with question marks where it couldn't resolve the special characters from Word. So I HAD to do some Find/Replaces to fix that before anything else.

Then I went hiking with [info]sanguinity and [info]grrlpup for a couple hours, which ended with going out for Pho (a Continuing Birthday event). Then back home, where I managed to assemble Monday's comic in time for my brother Stonecarrier's arrival. There was hanging out and talking, then dinner, more talking, then it's suddenly bed time.

I sure could use another day.

we hung a screen door with moderate success.

and shopped for groceries.

i'd like more weekend too, even though my weeks are rather cruisey these days. still, i have to do things like taxes and job hunting and other unpleasant things during the week. bah.

If you pretend you are (still) in New Zealand, you could always take Monday off as Queens Birthday Monday. I spent much of my extra weekend day finishing off accounts so I could hand them in to my accountant. But at least the weekend was much more cruisey than if I'd tried to fit that into a regular weekend along with everything else...

A regular sized weekend seems to be about enough time to catch up with the things that didn't get done during the week, but need to be done (eg, house cleaning, which was much of my Saturday) and not a whole lot else.

Yeah, I was just thinking about how a weekend really needs to be three days. One day to rest up and have fun at and near home, one day to go afield for fun (hiking, for instance), and one day to take care of errands and chores.

I'll have to have a word with my union to address this.
